Our team stresses the importance of knowing what to do during a dental emergency. There are a few things that you can do at home to minimize damage before you come in to our office. Keep in mind that in any dental emergency, it is imperative that you visit our dentist as soon as possible.
If a tooth is knocked out, carefully rinse it off in water. Do not scrub the tooth or remove any tissue fragments. Bring the tooth with you when you see our dentist. You can keep the tooth in a cup of milk to keep it moist. If you break a tooth, rinse your mouth with warm water. Save the tooth fragments and bring them with you to our office. For a toothache, rinse your mouth with warm water, floss the area gently and use a cold compress to reduce any swelling.
